マーヤ―とはこの物質的な現実の幻想を生みだす力です。それは神の活動原理の力です。さて、このマーヤ―、それは普通の人間にとって、サダカでない者にとっては、克服し難いものです。スピリチュアルな熱望者でない人は、奴隷としてマーヤ―に尽くす定めにあるのです。あらゆる動物、野獣、そして獣性の気質を持つ人たちは皆これに当てはまるのです。では、直観の実践行とは何でしょうか？その目的はまさにマーヤ―の影響に打ち勝つためにあるのです。この活動原理であるマーヤ―の影響は、まるで悪魔の鎖のようであり、苦痛と苦境をもたらす蛇の輪縄のようでもあります。人はこの蛇の輪縄の呪縛を解かなければなりません。そしてそれは、ヨガのサダナを通して成し遂げられるのです。ヨギが至高の父の元にやって来ると、主はこうお告げになるのです。「おお我が子よ、このマーヤ―の影響に打ち勝つのはとてもじゃないが至難の業だよ。マーヤ―は克服し難いものだからね。だが、我に身を寄せる者、我に安息の場所を求める者、我が膝の上に安らぎを求める者は、必ずやこのマーヤ―の影響を乗り越えるであろう」

3. Going beyond MAYA――――Subhasita samgraha/part 21
“MAYA is that force which creates the illusion of this physical reality. It is the operative principle of God.Now this MAYA, it is insurmountable for an ordinary human being, for a Non-Sadhaka. A person who is not a spiritual aspirant is to serve MAYA as a slave. This is the case with all animals, with all brutes and with all people of an animal temperament. Now, what is intuitional practice? Its purpose is just to overcome the influence of MAYA. This operative principle, the influence of MAYA, is just like a satanic chain, just like a serpentine noose of afflictions and predicaments. One has to free oneself from this serpentine noose. And this is done through YOGIK SADHANA. When the Yogi comes in close contact with the Supreme father, the Lord says..”Oh my child, it is very difficult for a person to overcome the influence of this MAYA. Maya is insurmountable. But he or she who has taken shelter in Me, who has (ensconced) himself/herself in Me, who has taken shelter on My lap, will surely go beyond the influence of this MAYA”..
